Forget Winter White, It’s All About Spring White

Posted on Apr 19, 2021 by 5 Comments

One of my favorite new fashion icons is Wendy Nguyen. Her Lookbook is always chock full of great fashion ideas, though to be sure, I never look that dressed up in my life. That said, I do always seem to gather good inspiration from her. So, thanks for that Wendy!

I’m headed to the mom conference in Miami in a few weeks and one of the evenings we will all be attending a dinner party on the beach, white attire requested. Now, I love love love the mental image of this. I can’t wait to go. Only, I don’t have anything to wear. Read more…

Moms Night In: Bunco

Posted on Apr 19, 2021 by 3 Comments

I talked recently about how quality time with the girls is a must because we all need time away from the kids and an opportunity to let our hair down, but sometimes a night out isn’t really what we’re looking for, and a night in is just the ticket.

So why not play a little Bunco?

The beauty of Bunco is, it lends itself to conversation in that it’s extremely simple and it does not require strategy. It is a game that is based on pure luck - roll the dice, sip your wine and see what happens! Read more…

What’s in Your Product?

Posted on Apr 19, 2021 by 6 Comments

I just had a facial at La Petit Rose Spa, thanks to my good friend Michelle, and I feel all glowy and amazing. Only, I’m a little frightened, too.

You know that part in a facial where the bright light comes out and your pores get uber-inspected? Well, as Michelle was doing this, she asked me about my skin care routine. I told her what I use - L’Occitane Immortelle Divine Cream, which I love by the way - and she told me about Safecosmetics.org. Read more…

Chic and Green with Stylish and Functional Reusable Bags

Posted on Apr 18, 2021 by 3 Comments

I just entered the regular reusable bag user phase of my life. I’m sad to say that I still forget them in my trunk and, not to mention that they are so bulky that when placed in my cart, they take up loads of room. Add in my three kids and where do I have space in my trunk again?

Enter the Envirosax pouches….stylish, colorful and by having two of these, I cover the grocery load (two standard grocery bags per reusable bag) and I’m doing my part for the environment. Outstanding! Read more…

Tribe Changi Travel Wallet For Your Travel Needs

Posted on Apr 16, 2021 by No Comments

Just yesterday, a good friend of mine went to India to visit her parents. So sweet! She took along her whole family, because of course she did - it’s a visit to the grandparents! On a 20 hour ordeal, though. Their first flight was 15 hours alone! Not to mention multiple connections and then a drive. With 3 kids! Urgh.

And also, if you’re not gasping yet, lemme throw the kicker out at ya. She doesn’t watch TV. So, that means the children don’t watch TV. They don’t have an iPad with apps, they don’t have computer games, they don’t even have headphones to plug into the airplane’s TV. I’m in awe of her spirit. Read more…

Posted on Apr 12, 2021 by 2 Comments

The color blocking trend is here to stay. So the question is, can you make it work? For a person who usually sticks to neutrals out of comfort and safety, color blocking makes me nervous. But I stumbled upon a fabulous video by blogger Kitty Cotten who shares some great tips for making color blocking work, and I’m starting to feel optimistic about the trend.

Using a color wheel as a reference, she offers the following tips for Making Color Blocking Work Read more…

Add a French Twist to Your Home with Cachette

Posted on Apr 12, 2021 by No Comments

One of the things I most love about France is the effortless sense of elegance, even in every day items. Oh oui, oui, ma cher, how I’d love to be that effortless. And chic. Alas, I’m little ole’ American me, so it’s not to be. But. I can pretend!

There is a store in Paris - and if you are headed to that wonderful city you MUST go to this store - called Merci. It’s just amazing. I could have filled a whole separate luggage bag full of their offerings. I didn’t. But I could have. Read more…

Life with Baby Simplified: eBabytracker

Posted on Apr 11, 2021 by 2 Comments

The first year is filled with sleepless nights, trial and error schedules and milestones we can’t help but brag about hitting. The first giggle, rolling over, the first time they sit up and crawl - those are momentous occasions we have barely a minute to jot down on a scrap of paper, but now all of them can be chronicled using the eBabytracker application on your handy dandy smartphone.

And I’m totally jealous. Read more…

Girls Night In: Pokeno

Posted on Apr 10, 2021 by No Comments

Quality time with girlfriends is a must, but when you become a parent those times become fewer and farther between. It becomes very easy to come up reasons why we can’t make time for a dinner out or an evening movie with a friend. It’s your week for carpool or your husband is deployed or you are just plain exhausted, and that makes sense - but when you do make it out, how often do you tell yourself, “I need to do this more often!” Or “Why didn’t we make this happen sooner?!”

It’s because we all need that time where we focus on us, where we focus on our relationships with our peers, with those who can relate to our interests, to the place and time that we are experiencing in our lives and with whom we can just let our hair down with and stop being “Mom,” if only for a few hours. The Mommy Files: 4 Blogs You Aren’t Reading That You Should

Posted on Apr 7, 2021 by 7 Comments

I’ll be the first to admit that I love reading blogs … even though they’re not nearly as hip as they once were, per se, it’s like reality television without the Snookie.

The funny thing about blogs is, there are so many out there that sometimes the really good ones get lost in the shuffle. The following blogs will not necessarily help you solve world peace or even help you answer everyday basic questions, but they will provide you with a good laugh and often some fantastic eye candy.

Quick Indulgences You Should Take

Posted on Apr 5, 2021 by 4 Comments

This is a quick and dirty list of indulgences you can take right now, this week, when you can sneak away for 30 minutes.

The husband’s watching golf on the couch anyway? Leave him with the kids and do something for yourself. Kids are asleep? Forget the laundry and focus on something frivolous for a bit. Have to get chores done? Make it fun by indulging at the same time.

Life should be fun and indulgent. Plain and simple. Read more…

Dance Yourself Into Labor?

Posted on Apr 3, 2021 by 2 Comments

Dancing into labor is all the rage these days and dancing pregnant women, more specifically, seem to be popping up all over YouTube. I stumbled upon an article over at The Stir where they shared a video of a young mother dancing to Justin Beiber’s song Baby hoping to induce labor.

It was quite the site and super sweet to see her dancing with her nearly two year old daughter as she attempted this feat, and I totally empathized with her need to just get the ball rolling already. Read more…

The Mommy Files: Are You Pinning?

Posted on Mar 30, 2021 by 5 Comments

You can tell a lot about someone by their boards. Which is probably why Pinterest is all the rage. It feeds our obsession with other people’s lives, but we can pretend we’re actually working while we pin. It’s kind of like getting to watch reality television while you’re in the office … except less discrete.

What are your friends baking? What did that cool girl craft up yesterday? Oh, you want to remodel your kitchen? Let’s see what was pinned today.

And frankly, there’s lots to love. From room ideas to crafts, recipes, and kitchy items that you can buy across the web, Pinterest is the visual girls’ BFF.

I could pretty much spend my entire life on Pinterest. Read more…
