Crunch ‘em, Munch ‘em, Crunchies Freeze Dried Snacks

by kate on March 26, 2021

Is there a spring in your step, yet? Spring is here, y’all. Well, in spirit if not in warm weather anyway. But still, I can just start to see spending lots more time outside.

Mostly, outside time makes me skip to my loo until I have to think about snacking. I love snacks and would pack a bag o’ chips and a jar of peanut butter anytime, for any occasion. Only, not the most healthy of choices for my kiddos. And no so great for my waist.

So I hunt and hunt for good, mostly healthy snacks. Which brings me to Crunchies Natural Snacks. They are freeze dried snacks. Awesome! OK, so I’m sure you’ve heard of dried cranberries or freeze dried apples before, but have you tasted freeze dried mangos or peas?

Peas?

Yes, peas. These were the first thing I opened when Crunchies sent me a box of yummies to try out. Because, the thinking goes, if the peas are good, any of this other stuff will have to be good. If the peas suck, well then there are always strawberries and who can mess up a strawberry?

But y’all. The peas are delish. Both my girls - 2 and 4 - gobble them up. That is, after they sort them and count them. But gobble them up they do. Peas!?!

So, yeah, the mangoes, apples and strawberries are sweet, too, and worth trying. Those disappear within seconds of opening. Plus, I feel virtuous giving my daughters snacks where the first ingredient in the package is an actual food item…know what I mean?

Here are some fun facts about Crunchies:

  • No sugar added
  • No preservatives
  • Gluten/wheat Free
  • Kosher Certified
  • Non GMO
  • Approved by Weight Watchers
  • Fat free fruits; low fat veggies
  • Less than 100 calories per serving

You can get them at Safeway, Target, Whole Foods, Piggly Wiggly…the list goes on. Or, you can order them direct from Crunchies.

Gosh - I think this is worth a try! Not sure if my kids would enjoy eating them if they know what’s in them though. Remember “Mikey” from the old LIFE cereal commercial - one of my kids will eat anything…. will have to try it on him! :)
