The Mommy Files: Going Gluten Free

by stacie on April 4, 2021

It seems that more and more, I hear people saying they’re going gluten free.

Gluten’s getting the same rap as corn syrup it seems.

But it’s true that gluten can be problematic for some people … my daughter is one of them. Subsequently, we’ve had to do some gluten-free investigating around here. But to be honest, I didn’t know the first thing about gluten-free cooking or where to even find recipes. I mean, I love to cook … but it wasn’t even just about that.

Gluten is everywhere!

But if you have to go gluten-free, you might as well find a few websites to keep in your back pocket, right? Here are my favorites. Even if you’re not gluten-free, there are some yummy recipes on these sites!

Hey Laura, What … ? has a great guide to getting started with the whole gluten-free thing. And she doesn’t sugar-coat it. Withdrawls? Yeah, you’ll have ‘em. Get over it. She’s a little bit sassy, but also very informative.

Delish has an entire section devoted to gluten-free recipes, specifically for the kids. From the potato volcano to tropical fruits with pistachios and coconut, there’s something here for every pallet. Gluten Free 4 Kids is also a great resource.

And if you’ll be traveling this summer, check out this guide to traveling gluten-free. It’s a must!

I try to eat gluten-free because I HAVE noticed it makes a difference in my mood, not to mention is great for weight-loss.
